The Preliminary Task

Last Tuesday our group planned and story boarded the short 1 minute film for our preliminary task. Our brief was to make a film which consisted of "Match on action" and a "shot reverse shot". we filmed and edited the short clip on Thursday. We story boarded all 8 shots with Me and Patrick McCoy playing the characters whilst Shane and Cian worked the camera.
The storyboard featured me walking towards a door, with match on action of my hand grabbing the handle, then on the other side of the door walking through. The camera then cut to the far side of the room so as to record me walking to where Patrick was sitting as shown in the story board. We then implemented our shot-reverse-shot with Me and Patrick who have a short conversation. Within the dialogue i requested to borrow Patrick's homework as Mr Hobbs would "bang out" if i did not complete it. Patrick's response of "no" to my request enraged me and the camera focusing on my facial reaction emphasized this rage as i uttered the final sentence in the clip which was "what is wrong with you?"
What would have been better in production was some more composure in the actors (especially me), dispute the dialogue being short i stumbled on it in some occasion, In addition Patrick had a tendency to stare directly at the camera which was not appropriate for our short film. Moreover, some shot had to be retaken due to certain mistakes such as the tripod being shaky or actors failing to move on time, although in consultation we did manage to complete our shootings 30 minutes before the other groups which is a testimony to the efficient and organized way in which we went about shooting this preliminary task.
Post-production was a source of worry due to the mistakes made during the film shooting, even more worry some was to find out later that we broke the 180 degree rule. However those mistakes were oiled out during editing. I was quite  impressed with the fluidity of the match on action. Overall I believe the film was successful in execution of our storyboard and with the editing in post-production.below i have uploaded the final piece of the film. unfortunately the story board was lost so i was not able to upload it.
